:helpsmile: I open my avi. file with virtualdub and this pop up...
im trying to add subtitles.... can i fix it? :blink:

you get this when you are using a xvid movie, you need to extract the sound to .wav and add the sound later back to the movie
Really, unless u plan on encoding that movie u don't have to worry about that error it's nothing.

ok this is wat im actually trying to do... i followed this subtitling guide... and when i played the new avi. video with the subs, the audio didn't match the person talking? like it was delayed??? if i can solve this problem then i dont need to worry about the 1st problem?? any ideas or programs i can use?? THNX! :blink:

Are u just trying to add subtitles to your movies to watch on your comp because if so all of that is not necessary, if u are trying to encode just take that audio out by going to the audio tab then full processing mode and save wav and in Tmpgenc set Direct Show to 1

Well just do what I said extract the audio then u have to install vobsub or ffdshow and then go into just put the sub files into the same directory (They should have the same name) as your movie If u use vobsub then Install vobsub and you are done. To change subtitles settings run the vobsub configure from the Start menu->vobsub. For ffdshow, 1. Select Subtitles in the menu to the left
2. Enable the subtitles.
3. Hit Ok.
U should now be able to view the subs in your movie player
In tmpgenc go to options>Environmental Setting and then change Direct Show till it's at the top of the list it will have a 1 as the priority.
And your done. U should see the subs while your encoding the movie.

(without converting the avi to a mpeg movie with TMPGEnc)

I don't know about joining it back to the .avi file but you can use BS Player and load the audio seperate look at www.dvdrhelp.com and look throught their guides about that and no this is not multiplexing that is when you add the audio(.mp2) to your m1v or m2v file.
