For the rest i like it the way it is now.

make some into subfolders - i.e. all the filesharing ones part of Fileshareworld, and stick with the other worlds

I'd say eliminate DC++ & Shareaza and place the post in 'Other Related'.

I voted no, but would go with jetje, Vivitron 15 and CP's suggestions though. Just keep the various apps as separate subfolders if you can.

Consolidate some worlds, ie move SoulSeek to MusicWorld. :)

I voted to combine a few. All the Kazaa Lite related could go into one, apart from the development bit, Shareaza and DC++ could go into Other Related P2P, and I'm still not convinced about the codec forum and Bookworld.

I liked the idea about two seperate lounges and wish it had worked, but it clearly doesn't look like it has.

I like the layout of the board but we have spread ourselves a little too thinly.

@ 7th - good on you for putting the poll up.

Merging some boards (folders) will improve the forum. For example, Bittorent, Emule, Edonkey, Shareaza should all go under one category, since Shareaza has them all. Soulsee# and blubster should go into music world. Luonges should be combined and posts should not be count. Internet world should be put in a subfolder under "Software world", since 99.98987% of the internet is software. That also applies to Games world, but Internet/Games world are somewhat active, so you could leave them alone. Codec pack discussion/dev. should be combined into 1.
The above is just IMO, I could be wrong and I do not respresent everyone, but only myself.

Thanks for the poll, I guess I finally whined my way into your heart or brain. I voted for delete although combine actually make more sense, though either or.

My main bone has always been in the Filesharing sections and I think moving some of the worlds like mIRC back to a simple nice and tidy pinned topic within "Other Filesharing Apps" would be much more effective, as for my ideas they have been repeated by me once too many so I am sure you know how I feel and what I think is best for this forum...

I think you can safely eliminate all the Requests subforums, as most people usually make their requests in the top tier Worlds.

I also think Movieworld should have a subforum for TV Shows. I know it's been hotly debated before, but I still think they're two very different things and they each deserve a different chat area.

I think makeing all of the fileshareing forums a subforums is a good idea.

Also funnystuff should be a subforum of the lounge.

Ok so we have the following folders. What do you guys suggest? Should we simply make them all subfolders under "General Filesharing Talk" or should we move all content into Other related P2P Programs, or should we do something else? I need some guidance here :-)

I think under fileshareing talk. All of those forums aren't that popular like musicworld or the lounge is so putting them all into a subforum i think is for the best.

I also think that the fileshareing section should be moved ubove the codics section.


Personally i think codics dhould be a subforum too but where should it go software world?

The topics as I&#39;ve mention such as Noob IRC Help, Private Bt Tracker, Soulseek Klf Music World and others that would be considered of importance should be pinned topics within, perhaps SoulSeek should move back to MusicWorld as it was before as it seemed to draw more attention when it was there.

As for other apps like DC++ and Blubster and those that may be offened by the merge and getting lost within, well I can simply say if you can draw the same attention that SoulSeek and FastTracker has then you should be pinned as well.

As we did once before as new communities started to develop they were pinned and stayed pinned unless they lost interest. This is why having Blubster pinned makes no sence because its not a community, just like Ares or Overnet perhaps, they may be great apps but they are not community based.

I am however a little clueless what should be done with Bittorent since it is rather large and use to overflow Other related P2P Programs. I guess a thought would be to have a EDK2/BT Forum, that could cover eMule, eDonkey, Shareaza and Bittorent all in one. Although if I had to choose I would say just one heading for all under Other related P2P Programs and keep it simple and clean...

Well the truth is Ares has just surpassed the 300,000 mark and still growing while the MP2P network is standing still at around 250,000 for some time. Also as I&#39;ve said above I don&#39;t see how an app like Blubster can be considered community based like SoulSeek, this is the reason SoulSeek has become so popular, not to also mention the ability to grab an entire album with one click that is a complete rip from one place with one app that ripped it, not a bunch of singles that have been pieced together...

Blubster for me is a saviour simply because I used kazaa for all my music and now thats messed up, blubster really seems to shine when it comes to single mp3&#39;s. I get ALL the albums I need form emule and BT at great speeds .. here is the community Im glad to be proud of and some of you will know I have tried soulseek .. few times, but simply prefere how I currently do things. Not saying soulseek is crap .. I know it isn&#39;t .. each to his own it seems.

Will there be a change?
