The US are saying their new technology of Hypersonic travel by mixing Oxegen and Hydrogen will be used for high speed missiles by 2006.
A slimline missile which can hit any target on the planet within minutes

The human body cannot stand up to speeds of more than 30mph, we just aren't made to go that fast.Quote:

how fast?
Yeah, but they burn the hydrogen first, the oxygen acts as a scramjet.Quote:

Yeah the hydrogen is burning and a pump pressurizes the airflow creating some scary speeds

It's a relativity thing.
But if the plane stopped instantly the passengers would still be travelling at 500mph
It's an inertia thing.Quote:

Captain, switch on the inertial dampeners.
Don't you mean Heaven :rolleyes:Quote:

Indeed, it would get messy, but if it's the ground that stops it then you don't really have a choice.

You've never been on a Ryanair, it's as fast as they can get them on the deck, "time is money" and all that.
Well think about it, a jet travels at around 500-600 mph right, it takes 23 hours to get to sydney from london with a 1 hour stop included :)
This thing will do it in 2 hours.
Thats approx 10 times faster meaniing it travels at 5-6000 mph
With out inercia like JP said, the human body could not handle that anyway :)
You'd all go thru the back of your chairs
Jonno B)
But it least it would sort out the DVT. :lol:Quote:

Nyone know how fast a F-16 or another fast war plane like that goes?
:geek: The previous record was: the american plane SR-71 "Blackbird" at Mach 3,5 (about 3500 kph) :geek:Quote:
