How will i know which files are fake and what is for real? I am looking to download Daredevil but how can i tell which file actually contains the real movie and not a fake?
there are 2 ways go to the verified section on this forum or another site with Sig2Dat hashes or download part of the file and then check its authenticy with AVI preview.
Be careful. One of the movies calling itself Daredevil is actually a porn movie. I started downloading it and checked it with AVI preview and it was porn. Luckily I caught it before I wasted time downloading the whole thing.
Speaking of AVI preview.... it seems that a high percentage of the movies I check with it have that green messed up crap all over them. Does anyone know if the files are bad files or is this a compatibility problem between Xvid and AVI preview and the movie might actually be okay?
I started to download the same daredevil ond the movies are fine it is just a codec problem. :D

I can't tell you what my answer to that was... :ph34r: :ph34r: but the movie was quickly removed or renamed!
But about the Green 3 blocked screen right? It's just a codec... you are not using the right one!
XVid moviez do that... So get the right codec! I always use Xvid Codec from SLD better than the KLite Codec!
In fact the Klite codec did the same for me.. uninstalled it and installed Xvid Codec from SLD again.. no problem anymore!
I had the same problem with "Matrix," but I realized I had a codec problem before I deleted it. A little research before one assumes that it's a bad file helps. I had to DL a new codec for the soundtrack on "Windtalkers." I've had two inquiries from DLers asking me why there's no sound. I guess there's no way to make it easy enough for some.
I installed Koepi's codec, which I heard was the best one. Someone mentioned in a post a while back that there's some setting in media player that forces the player to use different settings than it normally does and that this would fix it, but I can't find the post and can't find any settings in media player that seem to matter.
Who knows, maybe I installed Klite's codecs the last time I reinstalled everything and I just think I'm using Koepi's. I'll reinstall to make sure.
Hey Rocktron, what does SLD stand for? I'm tired and probably not making an obvious connection. :P
I once downloaded a file called "all the codecs in the world" but I was too chicken to install it, thinking it looked to much like bait to trick us into installing a trojan or virus.
Does anyone happen to have a good list of all the best and most bug free codecs? I always feel like I'm shooting in the dark and hoping I have all the right codecs.
A note on the porn issue.... I did some comparing and it seems that the scum doing this are going to great lengths to trick kids into viewing porn. The files of the porn I accidentally downloaded are almost exactly the same size as the real files. Can't be an accident. Makes me wish I could magically travel through computer lines to pay them a little visit..... :angry: :angry:
I have a feeling this disgusting abuse is about to become commonplace, so any of you with kids- make sure you check anything that's downloading before they see it.

People like that must have too much time on their hands... :angry: I mean come ON! Going out of their way to poste fake files (not to mention porn files)! What satisfaction do they get out of doing something that low??

Preview your films using AVIPreview <_< or KaZaA Preview Extractor ;)
I started downloading the Daredevil porn by accident and one of the people I was getting it from sent me a message. I have AVI preview, but I hadn't gotten around to checking that one yet. I thought that was very nice of the person to tell me.

I have noticed that people keep saying that they are having problems with AVIPreview.(But not all) :unsure:
All you do when using it is, save that file once you have a got about 5 or 10 meg of the film, the program
will then convert it into a Video Cilp for you to open up in your player to preview. ;)
