:01: can any tell me if it is safe to use kl as there is news that u can be caught using kl
It is very slim to be caught using the Kazaa Lite client.
Using the FastTrack Network, Kazaa Lite resides on is a bit more skeptical. There is a possibility that you could be caught for uploading/downloading copyrighted works.
Use the privacy patch (meaning others can't browse Your shared files).
However there's other better alternatives for getting/sharing files.

i wouldnt worry about it. check the filesharers vs copyrighters section for a more detailed analysis of the issues surrounding the RIAAs persecution of filesharers. odds are youre not sharing many files, and the odds of the man coming after you are pretty astronomically slim.

try alternative see other program where peaple didnt get cought ..
let see kazaa lite and kazaa = alot of peaple got caught
es5= even the press couldnt get to the creator +no one got cought +fastnetwork which ca connect to fasttrack ,gnutella and es network+it has the feature of proxy chain hiding which make it hard if not impossible to track ur IP..
PS: the first time i read that was in the es5 forum but then i had to check it out my self from other sources so i search through the internet and i founs something that support that idea in a very strong way..
i even asked some DR's who are specialist in networking and they said that this is a very intelegent feature that might take year to resolve it ..

I think it is crap and does not do as it claims. It's major selling point, the anonymity is nothing more than what you could do anyway. If reports are to be believed it doesn't work.

It claims to have twice the population of the planet as users, not in my experience.
The GUI is crap.
Hidden code was identified, then the developers came up with all sorts of stories to explain it.
The developers made death threats and threats to assault the member of someone's family. On the basis that he posted bad things about the programme.
The forum is full of sad "fanboys" who cant see anything wrong with any of the above.
The developers make claims about having offices in the middle east and employing loads of people. No-one other than they can find any proof of this, indeed when asked about Ras Kabir (Big Head) / ESV the local authorities and population simply laugh.
Even if it wasn't crap I wouldn't use it. However it is anyway.

None of them are 100% safe, especially if you don't use them right. SoulSeek and WinMX are still pretty low on the RIAA agenda. I think they go after the biggest networks first and then move down the line. Past record - they started off with Napster, then hit Audiogalaxy when it became popular, now they're concentrating on FastTrack (Kazaa mainly). ES5 is still pretty buggy for me - they keep coming out with new betas, but it usually ends up freezing my comp with a checksum error or something, or it freezes my browser and shuts down my internet connection, so you can't get much safer than that :lol:
Some people report that they don't get any trouble, but I think it depends on what comp you've got, firewall, internet connection, router, etc., as to how well it works for you.

betas will just keep comeing aout and u have to choose which one is siutable for u...
i used es5 ...it is good and i never got downloads smaller than 5 KB/s and am on dial up
hell i tried it on 128 dsl and i got three simultanous download at a rate of 2 to 25 kB/S AND I MEAN I ALWAYS GET THAT SPEED ...
ISNT THAT WHAT WE ALL NEED IN FILE SHARING ...HIGH SPPED AND AVAILABLE FILES
