Same guy as the sygate question :P
just wondering - does AVG actively protect against viruses (like Norton Control center?)
Also, does it scan for adware & spyware?
Thanks AGAIN

avg and a good firewall like zone alarm or zygate is fine, virus freee for years now
I tried jumping on the AVG bandwagon before...................problem is it turned into an email server. http://filesharingtalk.com/html/emoticons/wink.gifQuote:

avg > anything from symantec
and just to school you, avg didn't turn into anything, they renamed 7.0 pro to avg 7.0 ESE
marketing
I like control over my software. I don't care what it is. It needs to say it is what it was when I first installed it. And it did'nt. It changed not only versions, but a whole nother product as well. WITHOUT MY EXPLICIT CONSENT.
That's why I'm opensource. :)
I'm shocked  that the CEO of avg didn't send you a email alerting you that your pirated copy of their AV was changing names
Don't trust the free version - I had three trojans on my system that it didn't spot, even with updates and regular scans. I knew they were there because of my firewall alerts, but that dumb piece of shit prog was completely oblivious. Norton kicked their asses as soon as I installed it. It's worth paying out to get a decent antivirus prog - money well spent.
Of the popular versions of freeware AV's: AVG, AntiVir & Avast!.
Avast! Home Edition is the best. :)
@muchspl2 -- Norton and AVG SUCK and put together they suck almost as much as that annoying little monkey in your avatar. Add your "KVCD MANUAL" and call it a rap!
Use Nod32.
End of discussion.
you got served  and leave kvcd out of this, hard to believe that 5,000+ people have clicked that link, what have you done to help so many`
REALITY CHECK. kvcd sucks. Most decent dvd players don't even play em unless you got some generic knock made in indonesia sweatshop type player
And even the one's that do play them, I'd just as much opt out for DivX movies because their down right Better!
I bet your player don't even play kvcd's.................you just wish it would. http://filesharingtalk.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
i run avg with no problems and it takes less system resources then norton
Fight, fight, fight!!!!! :D
Cmon now....easy people :D

and my main dvd player cost over a grand, so shut your cock hole
You got me there. Although paying that much for a dvd player is bit impractical IMO.Quote:

You can get a really good one for a lot less than that. And I bet it will even play KVCD's. :)
