Baseball first then basketball
I picked "AutoRacing", but to be more specific, my favourite sport is Formula One. I like it for many reasons. The performance of the cars (obviously), being able to go from 0-150mph in 6.5 seconds, stop from 125mph in 55 metres, pull 4 lateral G in corners etc. The skill of the drivers, being able to control said performance (though they are helped a little too much for my likings these days with computer aids). The racing action (though it may not be as close today as it has been in the past). The glamour involved (the Monaco GP is one of the top sporting events on the calendar). And last but no means least, the spirit. Many have died over the years during Formula One racing, whether they be trying to push the car a little too far or otherwise, those men were willing to put their lives on the line to have the honour of driving the fastest cars in the world.
If it was good enough for them, it's certainly good enough for me :)
sheesh i didn't need to see an essy on why you like it
Hockey first, American football second, golf third
Basketball
1. Plenty of scoring
2. Almost every shot is a highlight.
3. The last Laker/Sacremento game :D , pure excitement.
4. I like playing the sport.
I picked "Other", but to be more specific my favourite is any type of motorbike racing, especially BSB (British Superbikes)
well unfortunately my favorite sport isn't on their that being Rugby League not Union!!
but I guess if Rugby Means both union and League IL vote for it
a close second American Football
Football, I don't know why.
I voted (Ice) Hockey. What could be better. Skill, speed, strength. Guys with knives on their feet & clubs in their hands. No seriously, imho this sport is the most beautiful sport in the world. I played as a kid. All or more of the skill it takes for other sports. But it happens much quicker. :01:
You are right. The average joe can't ice skate and then ice skate skillfully at that.Quote:

I love going to a hockey game. I don't know why.
I guess it just has so much activity. I hate sports with low scoring normally.
I still can't stand it on TV though.
You are completly right!!! :DQuote:

It's just amazing to dunk, to make crazy passes, it's a cool game though and it's not to ruff. The Best on Basketball are the 3Pointers ;) :P
Peace B)
Hockey. I get my kicks from the speed of it, takes a few seconds to be on the
other end of the Ice.
Sometimes when i watch football (teh soccer) i wish they used Cameras as in
Hockey, to see if there was really a need for penalty, was the ball in fact in the goal/ over the line,
did he touch it with teh Hand etc. I think we could get rid of some "filming" and
dirty tricks.
:cool2:
Squash is my sport it is awesome such a fast paced, high intensity game it is very enjoyable. I also like watching Football which is not called soccer (damn americans).
Tae-Kwon-Do Cuz i practise it ;)
Football. :D (Soccer)
There is no other game that can rival it. :01:
@leonarmston: It's called 'soccer' as well because we (the brits) abbreviated Association Football to get 'soccer', don't ask me how that works but it just is.
Hockey. Definitely hockey. Not sure what it is about the sport... the fast pace... the rush you get after really good body check... the huge burst of adrenaline when your team scores... can't put my finger on what it is exactly that draws me in, but it's like an addictive chemical.
Rugby Union, best sport in my opinion.
basket ball:
- Im good at it
- Play for long pierods of time
- very skill fll game
- theres never a boring/dull moment as people are always trying to play tricks to get baskets
:)
Soccer!
well that's the main one, and there's also tennis, and table tennis
Yeh knew that, we thought of the name but americans have continued calling it that in America. I think soccer comes from assoc.Quote:

As for Squash how could any other sport get a better venue than this. This is what makes me train hard everyday in the hope I will one day play here!

Kidding aside, the World's sport is Association Football.
It isn't even open to question. It is a fact.

Keep in mind that's what makes soccer the most popular sport in the world.
Anyone can pick up on it. I used to play with the Spanish guys in Silver Spring, MD around my ex-girlfriends house about once a week. I always had bruised legs.
Fun to play, hell to watch. Much like baseball.
btw in Britain is rounders a girl's game. A couple guys from England at work told me so.
Yep, <s>baseball</s> rounders is a girls game :)Quote:

We were playing rounders/baseball at a kind of camp we went to with the school when I was younger, a place called Kingswood. I remember having a swing with the aluminium baseball bat, it was pretty light but I could hit a tennis ball pretty far with it (on the odd occasion when I actually hit the ball, that is)

It can be called softball here, kinda a mix between rounders and baseball :)
edit, softball is a mans game
My favourite is Soccer, because it was the first major sport that I went to see.
It was between Derby County and Chelsea, and Derby won so I've supported them ever since.
Hockey!!!!!!!!!
Canadian game eh? ;)
Rugby League for me. lenty of action, and not many interruptions (not like those American sports with scheduled ad breaks - not yet anyway).
