You need money for some student stuff?
UK students get a loan to help them through the course of their education, this has replaced the previous system of a student grant I believe.
Oh....
I don't know if they give loans to people who will probably end up working in McDonalds so you're shit of of luck Fanny.Quote:

Ok......
cheddar every year after i applied to the saas, i put my loan form in with it. the saas is the student award agency for scotland. it gave me the non-means tested grand.
It takes absolutely ages....I'm just finishing my second year now.
I think it takes something like 6 weeks to 2 months before you hear back from the local education authority whether you qualify for a loan and tuition fees subsidy.
mine took about 4 months into the course to process so about 6 months for me. then again most of my mates took alot less. i suppose it depends on your Lea
Cool cheers guys, just trying to figure out what to expect.
When did you actually put it in? (F'nar...the loan application I mean  )
I usually send mine in early May. We usually have to wait for parent's P60 (end of year earnings statement) to arrive, because we have to put that down on the form.
Fortunately I don't have to worry about a P60 cause I'm a mature student but that sounds good for timing, I want my loan for when I start. :lol:Quote:

Assuming it's a standard degree course, you can apply as soon as you are accepted (when your exam results come out and you meet the offer) but...

If you wish to guarantee payment by the start of term, your application form must be received by the following dates:
* For new applicants, please return your form by 2nd July 2004
* For continuing applicants, please return your form by 28th May 2004
* For non income-assessed only applicants, please return your form by 30th April 2004
..
I've got 5 unconditionals so I'm going to apply real soon, just waiting to hear back from my final choice. Though I'll probably cancel that just to get the ball rolling early.Quote:
