Not sure if it's dead but I am pretty sure I am the first person to find themselves saying "Hello???" to a possibly dead bat
throw it. if it flies its definately alive. if it falls, meh!
I think it is dead or dying. :(
Just checked again and he's gone. The bat was alive http://img12.photobucket.com/albums/...01spinning.gif
I'm suprised he woke up when it's still light - wish I'd seen him/her as he/she flew away http://img12.photobucket.com/albums/.../wavehappy.gif
Yeah, or when your neighbor's cat left, a few dozen grams heavier! ;)Quote:

Saw through the window a bat fly around and wondering if it was mine I went out to get a pic.
When I was in the yard I found that my bat hadn't actually flown away but was round the other side of a plant pot about 2 foot away from his original postition :(

At least he's not dead though :01:
I hate to say it, Sam but the poor bugger looks better off dead.
Do it a favour and stand on it's head.
Lying on the ground isn't exactly a normal activity for a bat... Maybe a call to your local RSPCA would be in order, don't you think Sam^4?
why don't you catch him, sam????
But I love my bat :cry1:Quote:

Thing is I couldn't get that close physically to it anyway as it a long phobia of mine to have a bat fluttering around my face and if it suddenly wakes up......
@Gurahl - Good point - I'll phone them
  :lol:Quote:

yes!!!! ;)
You could use a mate rightnow!!!! :01:
yogi
I can't see your pictures :(
Just phoned the RSPCA - apparently bats can't take off from the ground as they need air-currents underneath them and that is why he isn't getting far.
Apparently I need to put him in a box then on to a hedge or something. He'll then crawl to the edge and fly away.
Dan-I'll edit the photos in the previous posts as photobucket might be gepping up.
Good job you didn't take my advice then.Quote:

Fishing net?
Invite him in and set up an account for him, we can all have a chat then :01:
Right..........I scooped him up with an indoor shovel type thing and put him on some old carpet I which I had placed on the wall (so he can get a grip of it).
On the wall:

Moving round a bit:

Moving again:

I pulled the carpet down so he was more at an angle (easier to take off):

He turned round 180% all by himself:

He's now been still for absolutely ages but I see him move his ears now and again., :D

It's since seeing that Movie "Outdoors" with John Candy where a bat latches onto his face I've been a bit worried about that ever since
The shovel did the trick though :D
