Dreamweaver :01:
Notepad.exe is all you need.
EditPlus2  again :D
BOT
 oops. forgot the 2. :P
frontpage 2003 is fairly good, specially if you know how to handle word.
TSW WebCoder :01:
WYSIWYG Web Builder (hxxp://www.pablosoftwaresolutions.com)
free and beginner-friendly
although notepad is the best cuz its hardcore, lol
textpad is alright cuz it has pretty colors
Dreamweaver is the best.....but you need to download a good tutorial to use it right!!!
My first and favorite editor is 1st Page 2000, but it would be a good idea to learn how to use Dreamweaver.
lol.. what a bump.. over half a year old.. amazing what people will dig up to get some posts
Notepad2. :01:
nah, building a web site in VI editor in a Linux shell is probably the most hardcore...although I've actually piped lines one by one from commandline into index.html before heh!Quote:

I still like using just a simple text editor with syntax highlighting so notepad2 or editplus 2 suit me fine.
I use dreamweaver although the use of tables is ridiculous
photoshop ur design, slice it, edit in dreamweaver ;?
There are lots more web creation programs than mentioned here. What are they like eg Coffee cup ?

Combination of Notepad and Dreamweaver. Graphics done in Fireworks.
Dreamweaver is really the best and having the integrated FTP is really handy.
Frontpage should not be used under any circumstances
use dreamweaver, it's realy easy.
if you study some basic html that might come in handy.
with dreamweaver you can use CSS verry easy, you hardly have to know what it is to use it. Only if you want to work with ID's or classes you'll have to do a little reading, but even that is realy easy.
or you use frontpage :p
Dreamweaver :D
And I second manofstyle's suggestion of Lynda.com tutorials - they're really good. Of course, if you want to start a blog, you can use wordpress - and if you are potent in PHP, you can of modify wordpress to suit your needs - which is what I do, as opposed to programming a site from the core.
Because its so crap microsoft decided to abandon it and make a whole new tool for professional web designer.
expression
Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Designer 2007 and Microsoft® Expression™ Web Designer are partially based on FrontPage technologies and will be launched in the second half of 2006. Microsoft® Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition were successfully launched in 2005.
Sounds to me like Microsoft is making FrontPage bigger and better and changing the name.
Your reason of “Because it’s so crap” is no reason.
I have used FrontPage 1998-2003, I have also used Dreamweaver. Both are very good programs, however if someone is trying to make a website for what sounds like the first time, I would strongly suggest FrontPage 2003 because of it’s “what you see is what you get feature.”( WYSIWYG) This will allow the person to design the look of his site and then be able to view and learn from the FrontPage generated code. Also the ability to open and edit a site live is very cool.
