Fish Fingers

I just had a fish finger sandwich....I love em but some people think they are gross....whats the board opinion on this hot fishy snack?

Now a buttered roll, with a scotch pie on it, that's a snack.

Oh...I forgot to mention that I have tomato sauce on one slice of bread and tartare sauce on the other....then its almost a meal!

Scotch pies are nice.....except for the bits of gristle <_<

I like em too except I toast the bread and as well as tomato sauce I put slices of cheese on the other side of the fishfingers. also if you push the three fishfingers to the top of the bread you can fit another fishfinger horizontally along the bottom. yum. :01:

You people disgust me.

I always have 4 in a sandwich cos they fit exactly to the size of the bread....hmmm not tried the cheese thing....next time... :)

A whole world of edible surrealism. I have yet to encounter a Haggis and Whisky sauce pie, but it is only a matter of time. Not forgetting chicken tikka pasties, cornish pasties, scots pasties (what are they?). If it is immobile, preferably dead and minced, and can be enfolded (culinary term) into a coffinette of pastry, there is a good chance you will find it in a bakery somewhere in Scotland.

Having been force fed fish till it came out of my ears as a child I could never see the attraction of the bland lumps masquerading as food.

I used to beg for a Frey Bentos pie as a child but my father (a good Aberdonian)insisted that fish was better for us - generally it took about 1 hour to catch a bucket full.

My mum did make a mean crab and lobster butty though. :blink:

Do you feel that this frequent consumption of fish in your formative years is responsible for your unfeasibly well developed intellectual capacity. I believe Wooster may have attributed it to that.

I suspect the fact the island had no electricity and my primary diversion (other than fishing) was to read, may have assisted in giving me degree of superficial literacy; although I obtained a degree of balance as I was a fan of the Navy Lark and the Goons.

The pictures on radio are very much more personalised.

I love listening to old radio shows. Hancock is fan-tastic, I think that is where Kenneth Williams did his best work, by far. As did Sid James.

it....is...then...cut...in...to....rectangles...

which are the &#39;fingers&#39; being referred to. They are then breadcrumbed and frozen, ready to be made available in any just about any freezer compartment in the UK.

Technically I don&#39;t think they cut them into rectangles. They fillet, gut, head and tail them - throw them into a machine and the fish is then extruded in long strips. these are then cut and treated as you describe.

Trying to cut fish into rectangles would be the job from hell and reserved only for those naughty people who cut fishy digits from marine wild-life. :ph34r:
