Whats the most items your have been downloading at a time? Here is an example of what I mean:

This was me just alittle while ago. Notice the 2 extra bt downloads in the bottom right corner B)

I don't really do many http downloads at the same time, but I regularly have 10+ things going on eMule.
i can only get maybe 5 http downloads like that going. through bt, newsgroups, and maybe soulseek, i have about 10-20 things going.

Strange ... with me, when 'save target as' to many files ... only 2 download at once, with download boxes coming up for the others in turn. Just one of many problems in life I come across =p
Yeah, I get that too. Occasionly it lets 3 or 4 downloads at once but usually just two, especially if they're off the same site. Kinda annoying.
edit: for lvlister2003 and anyone else, to fix only two downloads on Internet Explorer, copy the following in Notepad:
Call it something like IEMaxConnections.reg (the .reg is the important bit) and save it, then double click it to add it to the registry. Increases download limit to 20.Quote:

Took alot of looking at config files for Firefox to find this.

Also do you know for sure it's safe, won't limit connections in filesharing or anything like that?

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\greprefs
Right click All and select Edit. The stuff you want to change is almost exactly half way down.
Looks like these would be the main things to change. I couldnt find anything in regedit.

Changed the above bit to 12, and it worked perfectly, just had 6 downloads going from the same site.
