The newest one I use (5.03c) doesnt seem to use many resources at all and the default skin looks geat. :)

no versions of winamp have spyware and yes 5.04 is the newest version.
why dont you just download the latest version and try it out and if the system is lacking then you should uninstall it and go back to using the previous version :)

Meh, it was an optional installer thing but still technically spyware so Azzz was wrong (again).
Version 5.04 is clean, in fact I just reinstalled it myself with no problems.

im using 5.03 and there is no spyware on my comp, as well as no option to isntall any spyware in the installer. :blink:

My winamp uses about 5 megs of RAM when minimized, but takes a whopping 15-16 megs of RAM when it's visible (must be those intensive modrn skins :rolleyes: )
i'm using 5.03a (whoa, outdated!!) and i'm even using an old skool skin. i just love it too much. :)
