I can laugh now but things like that really pissed me off when I was a student...
...until I remembered that it was just lifestyle jealousy ;)
Would that be a no then? :oQuote:

Edit: spelling
AS-Levels, make up the first half of A levels, passed all of them :)

What in the name of all that is holy is lifestyle jealousy.
Maybe it's that you have to work and pay taxes, whereas I don't and get given money cause I'm poor and you don't like it :P

It is as Bo says.
I have a bad case of lifestyle jealousy at the moment. I wish I was still living the student lifestyle.
How much will the fees and loan come to. ;)Quote:

You don't see that as a cost then.
I was a tax dodger when:
a, They didn't charge for tertiary education (depending on your poority)
b, They Gave you a Grant to do it (depending again on your poority).
If you got the max grant then no fees at all. Guess what I got :P

Nothing at all, I'm a 6th form student and receive £30 a week (term time only and need 100% attendance to get it) for attending. I don't pay anything.
I get a grant, and haven't needed a loan yet. Ever.
I'm not in debt, yet I am tax-dodging with the best of them.
Hooray!
Errm just remembered I owe my brother about £250, oopsy.

No plans for University or College then.
Seems a waste getting the A-Levels.
I suppose you could say I am:
Tax dodging
Coffin dodging
Nearly living of the state
Living the life of Reilly
All I can say is poor F*ing Reilly.
You're a Mature Student (or old tax dodging bar steward) so you are bone idle, but at least you have paid something into the pot before taking it out.Quote:

True.
I'm getting a student loan which will take forever to pay back... :(
On the plus side I also get a grant because of my "poority" and all my student fees have been paid for. :01:
Plus I have a part-time job lined up. Which is nice.
No, 6th form is the equivilant of college, it's the same subjects/levels ;)
And uni, no plans for it because I don't see the point of not working for three/four/five years and coming out in loads of debt and still not being guaranteed a job.
I'm intending on joining the police once i'm 18 (this year) and in the mean time i'm doing 6th form; partly because I quite enjoy it, and secondly, I don't need to get a job in the meantime (which doesn't even have a set minimum wage at my age <_< ) and I can have a good time with my mates.
Also, I'm not going to Uni because I can't afford it. I couldn't afford to pay for everything myself and fit time in to have a job (good enough to pay for it all) and study enough to do well.
Do the Police Force you live in recruit at 18. Or are you joining as a civilian.Quote:

In Scotland I think it's 21 to be a constable.
Not 100% on this but:
18 to apply
18 1/2 to be instated (there's a 15 week training course before you can be instated anyway)
then there's a two year probationary period
then you're classed as a full copper and yuo can choose to specialise in whatever area
Up here it's 18 for a Cadet, which does not guarantee you get taken on as a Constable. The Cadet programme has only just started up again after a number of years.
21 before you can join properly. It may be something to do with the different legal systems.
I would check the website for your local force, just to make sure you can join. Do you know what force that is.
EDIT Northumbria I think

You will be chosen for a specialist area if you are suitable. You will not choose. Without being cynical, may I suggest rolling up your trouser leg etc. :lol:Quote:

JP It is eighteen to be a PC in Scotland. Although by the time you complete your training you are nearer 21.
Two year probationary period
One month training college, first year.
Three months training college, second year.
Ongoing local evening classes with exams at the end.
Ongoing 'street and traffic' supervision.
P.S. being a good golfer also helps.

Cheers Boab
Sorry for any confusion. that must be where I got the 21 from.
Just a Plastic Polis until that age.
