Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
I pay £15 for mine (I'm sure you can get cheaper though).

Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
£4 for a .co.uk domain name with 1and1 for two years looks pretty good. Is it a sound company?
Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
I am just wondering:
If I buy a co.uk domain, do I need to do anything special to ensure that people can access my site from throughout the world.

Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
So if I just get the domain name with 1&1 at $5.99 per year does it include a redirect to my site and are renewels the same price. In case anyone want I currently use http://www.dyndns.org/ which has some short and easy non.com urls for free and a small popup which after Ive been bookmarked is gone anyway...
Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
a redirect?
It depends how you set it up.
you can do domain forwarding, and have the domain name you purchase just point to your existing webspace, or if you've already got hosting, you can set the dns settings at your registrar (1&1 in this case) to point to your host.
And yes, generally domain renewals are the same price, and your registrar will probably alert you a couple weeks prior to your domain expiring.

Try osCommerce :)
*note: you will need PHP & MySQL
Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
That looks like the best thing Ive seen yet, just a couple quick questions, once I create the Shopping Cart on my pc will I be able to upload it to my webspace and I have yet to have leared anything about PHP or MySQL but once Ive learned it will it also be something that I create on my pc and the upload to my webspace as well...
Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
If you install Apache, with PHP and MySQL on your localhost then I'm pretty sure if you save it to a location you can then later upload it to your webhost. If you don't know how to install Apache and the other required services on your home machine I would recommened FoxServ or another popular installer.
Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
I installed FoxSeve and then osCommerce and tried to figure it out although Im completely lost...

Re: Cheapest International Domain Name
Well just about everywhere really but I also relized my ISP web space dosent seem to support PHP or MYSql. So I decided to continue my adventure to finding software that creates the cart on your pc and can publish it directly to web space or you can also manually put it on your web space. I did find just what I was looking for and have now found out after setting up the basics my ISP web space dosent even support fkin java so now Im looking for free web space that supports java with as littles ads as possible...
