Thanks all for helping. I just got done ordering it all. I ended up getting the athlon 64 3500+ Socket 939 , Kingston 512mb pc 3200 ram , and the K8N NEO2 PLATINUM MSI motherboard. This is going to be a big jump from my current 1ghz athlon cpu.

anyway, why not buy SATA drive?

Whats the advantage of buying a SATA hard drive?
