TCP/IP Home Networking and File Sharing Tutorial:
http://www.homenethelp.com/web/howto/net.asp
what DOES THIS MEANNNN, IS MY COMP GONNA BE VUNERABLE AND MY COMPUTER'S GONNA EXPLODE FROM HACKERS!?!?!? I DONT UNDERSTAND!!Quote:
If you follow this tutorial you may be giving everyone on the Internet access to your network shares
not with a router.
with a HUB it will be vulnerable.
but you have a router so forget that.
just run the network setup wizard on each computer. then you can right click a drive or folder and go to sharing and enable sharing on it then you can see it in network neighborhood\my network places on the other computers.
ok i did what the tutorial said.. now how do i transfer files?
"My Network Places" will have all of your shared folders from all the computers. Just double click whatever u want.
hm... i get a window that asks for the password... how do you find out the pasword? i never put any password on my windows...
did u make a password when u shared the folders? that's the only way i can think of that would make a password.

You can write large files to a ReWritable CD or even DVD±RW.
yeah, it's gonna take a long time to transfer that amount of data via ur network. I'd toss it on a dvd or 2 and call it a day. :)
