I have a dell 2400 that that stupid thing only has an onboard Intel Graphic card. So can anyone recommend me a good graphic card. I want one which will be able to support GTA SA.

Most will support GTA SA as its still running a GTA3 engine which only neededd 156mb graphics card. if all you want it for is GTA SA your on board should just about cut it.

Both my on board 32mb and geforce 4mx play Vice City with draw distance up to the highest on 1024*768 perfectly. And tyo me on he PS2 SA looks worse than vice city graphically.Quote:

No i was playing GTA SA round my friends house and he said i looking shyte so we compared VC on PS2 to SA on PS2 and SA looked worse with no AA at all. So the pc conversion even if they make it look beter will still need about the same as Vice Vity maybe just a bit more ram to load up the city;'slQuote:

i heard that dell has some hardware locks on its comps...... so that only dell aproved (read: over-expensive dell shit) will work......
dunno if thats true with video card as well though......
I've got a 64 MB GeForce 4 MX 4000 PCI Express graphics card, runs Halo and GTA3 and GTA: Vice City just fine.
are you sure its pci express? i thought the pci express card of nvida and ati have a new name i.e. x300, pcx5300

Is PCI cards as good as AGP cards?Do you have any pics of GTA games running on a PCI card? Wait if i change motherboard to an agp one will it be ok?

A PCI card (not PCI Express) can never be as fast as an AGP card. The whole point about the AGP port is that it works at a multiple of the PCI bus speed, and has double the bus width. So an 8x AGP card moves data around 16 times as fast as a PCI card.
Of course, once the data is on the card there is theoretically no reason why it shouldn't be processed as fast, but the manufacturers aren't going to put their top GPU's on a card that doesn't have enough bus bandwidth.
Many motherboards with built in graphics also already have an onboard AGP slot, it is worth checking before you think about swapping it. If not, make sure that whatever board you decide on will fit your case, some manufacturers have custom case layouts to stop you swapping the mobo.

Uhm i am thinking that instead of wasting my money on getting a PCI graphic card which will not work that well why not get a PS2?
