WARNING PS2 USERS!! Holiday 2004 Demo Disk!!

The recently released Playstation Underground 2004 Holiday demo disc allegedly has a bug that erases the content of your memory card when a certain point is reached in the game. Thus far, it seems that the "Viewtiful Joe 2" demo is the culprit, but nothing has been confirmed. If you own the disc, be sure your memory cards aren't plugged-in when you play.

I just played it right now too, F***ING DAMMIT!!! I"M REALLY PISSED OFF. I LOST MY SAN ANDREAS SAVE WITH TONS OF EFFORT PUT INTO IT!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I'm going to have to recover those saves. just have to.. i was soo close... arrg I'm having a damn breakdown.. I lost soo much stuff for many games that I had high stats on includeing Devil May Cry's highest mode, Kingdom hearts fully mastered, San andreas all tags, oysters, etc.., NBA Street Maxed stat custom player, MGS 2 All secrets, Simpsons hit and run 100%, Tony hawk 3 and 4 100%, and many many many MANY! more. this f*ckin sucks

I lost my memory card for ps2 too, so i had to start all over on Gran Turismo 3 on another memo card , and i was really pissed :(

Any reports on recovery yet? If it stores data, there has to be a way of recovery.

And that really sucks, i'd be pissed if that happened to me. :( which is why im gonna thanks you again (just incase i get that demo somehow).

I've read that PS2 X-Port allows you to hack a save and make it the same as an old one in stats. Work?

oh so it's just the demo then, good, im safe....whew. if i lost my gta:sa data, i'd snap. sucks that you all lost your stuff, keep your head up.

Am I the only one who uses more than one card, and backs up important games to one of the others ? I became used to this from ps1, those cards seemed to lose data alot .

Soo many gamers gettin pissed.

I would be cool if I cheated on these games, but it was all hard earned honest play. I like to save honest play, but loseing it is terrible.

Uhg, I am not even going to touch my PS2 untill my X-Port arrives in the mail..

Allways got good ol PC.. never lost a single save on it either. :-)

Halo Online, Sims 2... outta keep me occupied..

i got that disk but no ps2.. hmm who do i hate that has a ps2 :D

"Holiday 2004 Demo Disc" from SCEA, you are entitled to your pick from one of the following:

-Athens 2004
-ATV Offroad Fury 3
-Gran Turismo 3
-Hot Shots Golf Fore!
-MLB 2004
-Parappa the Rapper 2
-Sly 2: Band of Thieves
-Wild Arms 3


Turns out the demo disk was faulty, and would screw up your memory card after playing the Viewtiful Joe 2 demo. As an act of good faith, SCEA is offering any of these as 'reimbursement'. Just call them at 1-800-345-7669 for info on where to send your demo disk. Only 1 game per PS2 Serial #. Sucks for those that played it and got their shit erased, but they are giving away a free game.
