Of course, I suppose there are other opinions.... :)

Not on individual tracks, JP-I mean sum total, all things considered.
There are, and have been, many great vocalists; I feel Rodgers has more talent in his pinkie finger than the lot of them-he's that good.
Head and shoulders above the rest-in a class by himself. ;)
Bono all the way.
David Coverdale.
The early Whitesnake stuff. Thats a Rock'n'roll singer imo.
Because it has strong roots on teh bluesy stuff I guess...
:)
Both excellent choices. :)
Rodgers is better. ;)
Eddie Veddar from Pearl Jam, or Jim Morrison from the Doors
William Hung.
Meatloaf!!!
LoL, thats not rock:dry:Quote:

I also think that James Hetfield of Metallica has a great voice when he sings rather than shouts
Mike Patton
:)
Al Barr, of the Dropkick Murphys.
Of course;
Eddie Vedder
Bob Dylan
Bruce Springstein
Evan Dando
Johnny Cash
Otis Redding
Jim Morrison
John Martyn
and a few others too.
My vote would be Eddie Vedder.
Rob Halford or Bruce Dickinson
Don't you people even know who Paul Rodgers is?
Bon Scott
Bruce Dickinson
Ozzy Osbourne
Kurt Cobain
Mustaine...
Rodgers. ;)

My Mam says Freddie Mercury had the greatest vocal range and had the most powerful voice she'd ever heard. He was also the greatest live performer she'd ever seen.
She is rarely wrong.
I can't decide but Dave Quackenbush would probably get my vote if this was a poll.
Who the hell is Paul Rodgers.
Who the hell is Dave Quackenbush ?
Good thread, but why don't you guys give the name of the band as well ?
What about Robert Plant - Led Zeppelin ?

Johnette Napolitano.
I won't say she's the greatest rock singer ever or anything, but she never gets mentioned in any vocalist conversations. Any fans of Concrete Blonde would likely agree that she would be right up there with Janis Joplin and Grace Slick as far as truly passionate, powerful ,and possessing a voice that just penetrates the soul kind of singers. Someone here has to be a big Concrete Blonde fan other than just me....right?
Show some of that old fashoined Musicworld love to Johnette!
But if I had to pick the greatest rock frontman/woman ever I'd have to go with Jim Morrison.
Chris Cornell
I second that. He is a great singer. Haha.Quote:

Freddie Mercury by a mile, a distant 2nd imo is David Lee Roth. :P
