If you had an infinite amount of money, what would be the best video card to buy? And no dual video motherboards or whatever, just single video cards.
Ooops, wrong forum....:blushing:

Radeon 9800XT 256 mb , or nvidia 6800GT Ultra , anyone that is the best i guess :|
i'm an ati fanboy, but i'd probably get sli 6800s
how bout an X850? 9800's are techinically, by ATI standards, outdated..so pimp out!

.................
All the ones mentioned in here are crap compared to what you can get if you have all the money you want.
so whats the best available then?
Atleast a nVidia Quadro FX 3000 or somethin.
the most expensive, the most strongest, the most BEST CARD EVER CREATED THAT WILL NOT BE OUTDATED UNTIL THE YEAR 3503
i'm with monkeee on this one :) and if the "reality-fanboys" want something real, then this one:Quote:

It's primarly for CAD(solidworks & autocad) and DCC(Maya) workstations. The majority of the price goes to testing the card with various professional software. If you go to the nvidia website they have a list of "Professional Certifications."
The Quadro 4 I have gets pretty decent fps on games but the cards really meant for opengl apps. The best gaming card would be the 6800 ultra since it canbe run in sli mode.
Yeah, the point is ITS FOR FUCKIN CAD....NOT GAMING....BE A FUCKIN HOBO AND BUY A 6800 or SOMETHING FOR a QUARTER OF THE PRICE OF THE QUADROQuote:

Thats an OpenGL development card. Fah.Quote:

ffs, the company i was with, the fuckers rich as hell,
but they ran AutoCAD, MasterCAM, CADKey, etc...
all on outdated Win98/2K pcs with onboard video
-edit- as its a dream vid card thread...
i did see a PNY card for $400, 256 MB/1 GHz, looked nice, but...
i think i would take an ATi with about those specs and be happy
lol shit i'd still buy the quadro fx and sell it to get a 6800 GT and another computer...
i'd want a 6800GT or ULTRA.
Next would be the X800 or x850 if that's out.
Wouldn't want a quadra. They don't game well it's just good for graphics design and cad. No dirext x 9.0c. :P
i would want the 6800 gt sence im getting it this month :D
its taken me forever to save up for it tho :|
