what are some good RPG games where the view is third person, but it follows your character up close like it does in GTA or WoW?
games like dungeon siege or diablo have no excitement because of their view, I think.

Vampires: The Masquerade: Bloodlines is the best RPG of late. Maybe Knights of the Old Republic 1 or 2 if you Xbox it.
Yeah, Vampire Bloodlines is a pretty awesome game. Huge gaming area, beautiful graphics and a pretty tight storyline.
A little bit buggy, defiently needs a patch to sort the glitches but otherwise the best game I've played in ages (I'm a big RPG fan).
Which makes it all the more unfortunate that it essentially turns into a dungeon crawl near the end of Hollywood. :/

Anachronox is a decent one on PC budget, but you have to watch if it works on WinXP :(
skies or arcadia legends on the gamecube was brilliant - but not exactly 'gta-ish'
on pc - i quite liked silver - but its more like zelda than a traditional rpg
and yeah - Anachronox was great on pc - and there is an xp patch somewhere - i found it on kazzaa a while back
Ok, can someone tell me what WoW is. I have asked everyone but no one has told me. :mad3:
world of warcraft i think?
World of Warcraft, yeah. It's the best MMORPG that I've played.

greatest rpg to date: Zelda OoT, classic style game with superb graphics, even in todays standards, excelent storyline and replay value. rated 10 by many many websites including gamespot.com
if you like RPGS you will like Zelda
There's a monthly fee for World of Warcraft. It ranges between $15 to $13 a month (USD) depending on what size of chunks you buy your time in.
You can kill other people in it too. PvP servers cater to that, while PvE servers give you a choice (for the most part).

I heard Everquest 2 is better than WoW.
WoW seems more catroonish too, all wizzly and bright.
Everquest 2 is absolutely horrendous.
There isn't much more to say about that. ;)

Arcanum is pretty good. Also Fable is great on Xbox. I can't think of any others right now.
