yes, it usually takes quite awhile to update the lists. especially for a big one like dvdr.
Grabit is kinda slow in updating large newsgroups.
Newsleecher however does this much faster. :01:
You should give it a try.
no need to download headers.
use the latest version of grabit it has a search function ;)
would that be 1.5.0 beta? it was the newest one i could find. i dunno what version i have been using. :lol:Quote:

thanks man, it took me a minute or two to find the official grabit website. this search thing is gunna rawk.
been using 1.5.1 mainly for the nzb import function, but it seems laggy and pretty slow. ive tried newsbin and newsleecher - one of which i didnt like, and the other i couldnt find a working *ahem* way to buy
does anyone have any other suggestions for binary clients? id like:
- small and lightweight
- allow 2-3 connections (to one server) though it would be good to allow me to connect to >1 server a time
- allow nzb import
- thats about it!
ok thanks, ill try newsleecher and the search function as well, just don't know what im lookin for yet lol, im new to newsgroups since torrentbits is down :( and i wanted to see what ng has to offer
If it's newsleecher you're talking about,it's been posted in alt.binaries.warez.ibm-pc.0-day.(Newsleecher_V2_00_beta_9_RC2_with_Keygen)Quote:

So if you got a good retention, you might want to check it out ;)
edit:
If don't have good retention,here's a ed2k link:

thanks - will try that - the last v i had of NL, the keys kept running out :(
though any other suggestions gratefully recieved :)
Dunno how long the retention if for the grabit search, but it is possible if the search shows that all files are complete it is possible they are all incomplete @ the newsserver you use.Quote:

you can right click the file from the search results and choose which server you wanna use for downloading.Quote:

only thing that i dont like about the search is that you have to add the group to your list before you can download from it. i hope i'm wrong, but thats what i found out.
Generally the GrabIt Search for me will show a file about 10 hours before it gets to me where I can dl it...
I dont nor do I even have to update that group, it just may not be on your server yet or may no longer be...Quote:

Do it once and wait a few seconds or you may end up grabbing it all twice.
