Found some reviews , the msi is highly thought of . The Xfx has crappy support .

Check out the noise level comparison ! Msi = 1 Xfx =5 . :unsure: And for what it's worth HDTV output only avalable with the Msi. :)
Hey who's BFG ? Notice their core and memory clocks , are some what higher !

actually i might get the BFG... it has the lowest temperature and the highest benchmarking for FPS. :cool:
I don't know, you can over clock your self ! But read all the reviews ,I found them very interesting . Like the Bfg OC ! :) Ya the Bfg is factory over clocked . and has a life time warranty , best in the indusrty ! :01:

How can anyone really tell if noise is a significant factor from that report? All you get is a subjective level 1 for the MSI board compared to a 4 for the BFG offering and a 5 for the XFX. Couldn't they hire a sound meter FFS.
Did anyone check the OC benchies? The XFX outstripped the BFG each time when OCed, but without revealing the resulting temps it seems a little meaningless. Still, I suppose you can draw the conclusion that the boards were stable at the quoted speeds so perhaps temp isn't that important. I wouldn't want to bet on it though.
Still, a useful comparison, but I guess I'll probably be going for a PCI-E board next so it's not going to really affect me.
The xfx is supposed to be a pos. Bad quality and high temps, maybe noisy too, gonna go have a look.
There are some good ones from gainward, tho' I hear they didn't do a good job of mounting the heatsinks on quite a lot of the early ones. Insufficient springs to keep them in place and such.
The latest batch should be cool tho'.
EDit: not sure about the noise levels, still looking, but the xfx support is horrible according to a lot of people.

The very latest ones from gainward, or one of those MSI's.
Haven't heard anything bad about the MSI's at all, but haven't heard much else about them either.

Can't comment about the XFX boards with regard to noise, I've got an FX5200 with passive cooling!!!
But I have never had a moment's problem with it and it is well overclocked when running games. I haven't had any problem getting drivers from the XFX site when necessary either.
Then there are the blokes at sudhian and elsewhere who'd class xfx as the world's worst brand ever. :lol: Tales of trying to get support and all lines always being busy and whatnot.Quote:

I dunno', I can only refer to what others have said, as I never tried one myself. Still trying to save enough money to buy what I want, which is a gainward, I think.

i found some reviews for the 6600 cards and thank god i didn't get the MSI yet.... the load temp for MSI went over 90 >_<, definetly going for leadtek
damn these 6600GT are friggin hot...
Honestly, you should just get the cheapest one. They're all the same in terms of performance, and isn't that what it's all about? I happen to have the XFX 6600GT AGP, and it runs great. Sure, it gets hot under load. What modern microprocessor doesn't?! It's sitting idle at a comfortable 45C in a 33C ambient case. That's not too bad at all. Don't go by rumors and hearsay. I actually own and use it. I can't account for it's overclockablity. I find OCing anything to be rather pointless and far too dangerous.
actually many of people's xfx burned out, i just want to keep mines cool.
