Mine was a ZX81 :01:
Commodore 64....actually, I was given a Vic-20 but I bought the C64.
Commodore 64 too :01: That computer was the shit. I still have the games.
Mind you I still have one of the old computers that played that game of 'tennis' with 2 lines on either side
It was a hand-me-down :P
Its still sittin in my room too.
Intel P3 667
128 MB ram (upgraded to 256 later)
crap, upon crap, upon crap

An IBM thats about 6 years old.
Probable came with ...
Amd K-7 499mhz cpu
64-128 mb ram
S3 integrated graphics card
15 inch crt monitor ( not flat screen )
dvd rom
15.8 GB Hard drive
umm mine was an amiga. I thougt it was pretty cool
Had a 486 with windows 3.1 :)
My first I got in 1998 and was an HP something.
Had:
amd k6-2 333mhz
64mb of ram
4mb onboard video
24x cd rom
windows 98
Check out this old post about my first computer: http://www.filesharingtalk.com/vb3/s...4&postcount=20
a spectrum, zx i think
i only think it was a zx cos you always hear people say zx spectrum. it had a seperate tape-deck anyway
first pc: pentium 133mhz, 16mb ram, 1gb hard-disc, windows 95.
we thought pc's just couldn't get better when it OC'd to 166 and we got 32mb ram, which in those days cost an arm and a leg
I think I actually might have had an amiga 600hd first, and then a C64.
I shared the Amiga tho', and I still have that in my closet, tho' I can't get it to work.
I had access to plenty of computers at work, and I could play games on them etc, so I didn't bother to get my own until PCs were worth having and were affordable.
My first PC was a 16MHz 386 with 8MB ram I think. It had a 40MB hdd, but that soon became full. Hard drive sizes were fixed on that pc so I had to modify the bios myself to make it accept a 320MB drive.
Actually, there was a motherboard fault which didn't affect what I wanted the pc for so I got the base unit free (they would have been scrapped otherwise) as long as I paid for the monitor and keyboard. I bought the cheapest monitor I could, a 14" single resolution job, but somehow a 15" multi-resolution monitor arrived at my house. I can't understand how that happened, I never made mistakes in the stock room. :whistling
eMachines with an AMD2200 AthlonXP, 512mb ram, 100Gb HDD, CD-RW and DVD-ROM, XP Home.
Ah, the good old days.
cant believe we used to get by with junk like that...Quote:

13" viewable monitor (had to use some 'Force Color' program to get even 256 colors) :(
Windows 3.1.1
don't remember if it had a gfx card or not
AMD Thunderbird 1Ghz 128mbit sdram, GF2MX, Win ME.
I'm infact using the same old case so you can imagine the noise, everything else is upgraded. This is about to be rectified soon though :01:

There are more 'puters I mess around with in this building and elsewhere, but the ones on the list are the ones I've used or am using regularily. I've picked most them apart quite a few times too.
First one I ever used was like a 66mhz p1 and 8mb ram...then 566mhz celeron with 320mb of ram now 3200xp with 512mb dual channel....much better

not too sure about that 8mhz cpu either...
Minimum requirements for Windows 95 was a 386DX CPU. I don't think they were available as slow as 8 MHz.Quote:

Commodore Vic 20.
right. the 286 was 8mhz. dunno if it'd be possible to install Win95 on that, but if you could then it'd prolly be painfully slow.Quote:

well before the commodore, not even a floppy, had a tape deck instead, I did get an Atari 5800 ( I believe thats what it was, not the game module, it was a pc) and also 2 commodore 64's. I stayed away from pc's for quite a while after that, and broke into it again with a Packard Bell 500mhz
Or more affectionately known as the TRASH-80. :)Quote:

The games that you could buy to put into the slot at the top used to cost a fortune, if I remember rightly. I was only allowed one for my Birthday and two for Christmas
The one im using right now, ive had it for about 7 years. It still plays movies and music, and BF1942 so i dont care :D
But if consoles count it would be the original Playstation, back when roadrash was a cool game
:) nah, sorry mate. I sold that to a brother-in-law to finance the A500 LOL.Quote:
