Bush says his re-election affirms Iraq policy

No shit.

Just read this in the Washington Post.

It stuck out to me because remember j2 saying that just because he votes Bush, it doesn't mean he supports all his policies. I agree because I definitely didn't support all of Clinton's.

This is not an attack on j2 but can pro-Bush voters explain what policies they support?

If a person didn't support Bush on Iraq, what else was important?
(I do realize that some or most conservatives did support his policy)

I almost forgot that because of this affirmation Bush says he has no plans whatsoever for troop reduction.

Well, if he believes that it affirms one thing - the man is an idiot.

I forgot to mention that because of his re-election he said he won't be reassigning or firing anyone involved with Iraq.

This means by his re-election, those who voted for him stand by his boneheaded decisions which in turn makes the voters...........well,,,?

hopefully there will be big protests in washington. I went 4 years ago and there where a lot of people there to yell at all the old ladies in their mink coats heading to the balls. I'm still trying to figure out how to get down to washington again this year.

btw - worst part of all of this is they are sticking washington dc, which voted 9 to 1 for kerry, and which has no representatives in either the house or congress with the bill for the inauguration and the extra security. Meanwhile, the 40 million that was given to the inauguration committee will all go to huge dances and balls. And of course no one cares, cus republicans can get away with this bullshit.

I decided not to make the overtime and work the Inauguration this year.

Besides, it's cold as shit this week. I hope it's so cold that they can't have it outside (like one of Ray-Gun's). We've already had a standoff with someone threatening blow up a gasoline filled van. I hope there are more debacles.

yea, if it makes anyone feel better, as busyman pointed out.. the weather is going to be terrible for both inaugurations. This time cold as hell and 4 years ago not as cold, but a ton of rain. I still have my poster i picked up in washington, its in taters and it ran all over the place from the rain. Ironically, it was about how many people he put to death in texas. "wanted for murder: george bush". Funny how such things are so insignificant in light of what he has done in the last 4 years. I am very happy that you are going busyman, if cant go i would like a report back if possible. Its always hard to tell how many people are at these things unless you are actually there. Peace man.

People who protest things like this are morons who have no job and nothing else better to do. Protesting things like this are pointless because they accomplish absolutely nothing. I hated Kerry but I didn’t go to any of his rallies and try to cause trouble, which would have been pointless, instead I voted against him which actually did something. What all of these morons should have done is get together in November and get out the vote to get Kerry elected and actually try to help the cause. I talked to people about the election and also got some people to register to vote, which is much more effective than holding up a sign and yelling obscenities.

Its been a while since I’ve had time to post, everyone doing ok?

We want bush to know that he doesn't have support from the whole country. He wants to have some huge inauguration during a time of war.. well then we can remind him that we are still at war and he really screwed it up. AND THESE SAME PEOPLE DID REGISTER VOTERS... way more than the republicans did. And before you go around calling everyone a moron look at the casualty count in iraq and tell me that its worth it. We gave up the hunt for weapons last week officially without finding any. The bottom line is he said we were going there to get weapons of mass destruction... there weren't any.. like we said before the war when we - yes you guessed it.. PROTESTED against an impending war on iraq. Some of us Americans use the rights that we have to tell our leaders they screwed up big time and that we dont want any more innocent american kids to die in this war. And you talk about democrats registering more voters that may be true but if the people who register don’t go out and vote than you’ve wasted your time.

You went out and protested before the invasion and that accomplished what? Nothing. The invasion took place the majority of the people in America supported the effort and the President won re election.

He's not going to suddenly give up the presidency. But if he looks out his limo and sees throngs of people that hate what he has done, it might do something. As a preface, I voted for Kerry.

I have many co-workers that voted for Bush.

I asked them, "what about Iraq, what about credibility".

"What about it. With Bush in, I keep more of the money I earn. I couldn't give a fuck about Iraq."

That is why a republican was re-elected. Bush just happened to be the man on the ballot ticket.

Iraq was not what was voted on, people were looking out for #1 as usual.

@ hank... so you don't agree with everything...yet somehow Bush thinks you do because you voted for him....Isn't it part of the whole freedom thing that we make sure our leaders KNOW if the things they are doing are not the reason we voted for them?
for goodness sake the constitution allows us to bear arms against them (there is an amendment that needs inserting...I believe that should be removed)... All these people are doing is voicing through protest.

Most Presidents make no difference in most of our daily lives.

Presidents affect soldiers, the rich, the elderly, and layman with various sweeping laws (FMLA - Clinton, abortion rights, gay rights, etc.).

Vid nowhere in my posts did I say they shouldn’t be allowed to protest, what I said is that it doesn’t accomplish anything. Screaming, yelling and holding up signs that are vulgar isn't a way of conveying the message that you are unhappy with the President’s performance. Did you not see the analogy in my other post? There is just no way that you can ever agree with everything a person does.

Tell me how you would get your message across. Lobbying only works if the lobbyist has an agenda that fits with the person they are lobbying.

If it wasn't for protesters, some people still wouldn't have the vote and would still be segregated in some states.....The USA has a short history, so there isn't too much to forget about.
