is it still a good time?

hey guys...i want to know if its still a good time to get a fully moded ps2 or an xbox with hdd and etc...because i have never had a good gaming system except my old n64 which i dont even look at anymore..

Xbox 2 is coming out soon
and ps3 is coming next year too....

if i do decide to get one its going to be fully loaded (modded,hdd and everything)

but i need ur advice....or shud i save up the money and get a PSP because if i want i can get a PSP for $360 CDN from this guy whose in my area and its NEW.

what do u think i should do?

also put this in to consideration if i buy psp im going to have to spend money on games and etc. whereas in a modded xbox or ps2 i can just dl games and transfer to hdd...

so help a FSTer out.... :)

get the x box, i`ve got mine chipped 2.6 and 120 gb hd, never touch the ps2 any more, xbox is wicked.

get a ps2 and a hd loader with hd, never looked at my xbox, ps2 pwns

lol this is where the trouble comes in...ps2 or xbox

i like to play racing games and fps and games like san andreas...right now im leaning toward a ps2....

have good FPS and good driving games
cost the same

PS2:
has GTA
has free online gaming
can play burned games online

Xbox:
will have GTA in June
is alot easier to deal with
is better at reading burned media
cant play burned media online
has Halo 2


There are others, i cant think of them right now.

all well and good the only good tps on the ps2 seems to be kill zone, just think far cry black hawk down and many others are coming to xbox,

oh you can`t play burned media online, well guess you think you can`t play the 1st halo online either, well get x box connect it will allow you to play all system link game via the net, burned or paid for games.

I was in the same situation as you were 6 months ago. I brought a PS2 magazine and an Xbox Magazine. PS2 had 100 pages devoted to GTA and about 3 pages devoted to a new EYE Toy game and Britney Dance Mat 17. Xbox had Halo 2, Far Cry: Instints, Unreal 3, Parhala (Spelling?), Oddworld, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Doom 3 (finally at playable FPS for those who do not have the hardware) Splinter Cell 3, Prince Of Persia and the list goes on.

Get the PS2 if you want GTA games 6 months early and thats it. Get the Xbox if you want much better games with much better features on a much better system, and GTA just 6 months later.

good, xbox is better then the PS2 because of what it can do chipped, it become`s a media center, play`s roms and divx video`s. good good stuff.

Oh yeah plays GBA games, Snes, N64, Divx, Xvid, Vcd, Svcd, Kvcd, DVD and so on... also you can install Linux and use it to browse the web, and with XBConnect you can play all your coppied games online.

How much is that trade? www.kanection.co.uk do hard drives i believe, there not much. Singagirlly knows how to prepare hard drives and such. Basically you stick an OS onto the hdd called EvoX. This auto loads no matter whats in the vd tray and has tons of options,

Play Media In Tray
Play Installed Games (Hdd games)
Game Trainers (to cheat in games)
DVD Player
Installed Emulators
Xbox Media Player
Xbox Media Center
Launch apps from HDD
Choose Skin
System Settings

and a few other things.

the guy said he'll install the hdd for me...

its going to be a straight up trade for my 20GB ipod no $$ involved
