Ok i was trying to untangle some cords so i had to unplug my monitor from the electric and my computer. after I was done and i turned my computer back on the desktop screen shakes. kinda like when when u turn your mon off and back on and it shakes kinda like that but it won't stop, teh monitor is like shivering. how ever when playing a game or viewing video full screen iit doesn't shake
also is it some sort of metal reaction because i just put a stereo on top of the monitor

did you bend some of the pins on the end of the video connector?
i looked no pins appeared to be bent and it fits into the plug with ease
anyway, you shouldn't put unshielded speakers close to yoru monitor.
the magnets will fuck em up after a while.

oh fuck i took away the speakers and the scren is still shaking i think i've doon permanent damage?
have you tried degaussing it.

I would suspect a failing capaciter in your horizontal sweep or power supply. Although, a failing/bad soldered connection in that same circuit can cause the same symptom. At least you won't have to bother with the visualisations in winamp anymore... :unsure:
If all else fails just keep jiggling the wires going into the monitor and from the monitor to the machine and see if that works. If not, take it to a repair shop cos it's probably just fucked.
Try increasing the refresh rate, that's probably what's happening when you play a game.

I suggest you reread my post and then make your decision.
FYI: it would be useful when asking for help that you state what type of monitor you have.
Unplug your monitors' power cord for awhile and also try it on another PC. At least eliminate the simple possibilities before you spend the money on a repair or replacement.
Oh did I mention to reread my post, I speak from experience in the electronics repair industry.

Maybe try another electrical outlet. One where there are no AC adaptors.

ok i figured out what broked it, its not the speakers its the deck the cd/radio/tape thing once your move it a couple cm ding fixed but i have no where to put the stereo in my room other than the shelf on top of my monitor, will keeping it ther break my monitor?
