Hi,
Today i downloaded couple of movies from ET (R.I.P now)...and the downloading speed was absolutely crazy…I downloaded a 750MB movie in only 25 minutes….and the other movie was 520MB or so which was downloaded in only 17 minutes…I couldn’t believe when I saw the downloading speed going on way over 520 Kb/s.
I have adsl connection and this has never happened before….its just crazy. I hope I get this speed in the future as well.
Just thought of sharing my experience!
when you use torrents from sites like ET, FileList or Torrentbytes its normal that you download with full-speed :)

OK so the movie(s) were downloaded at 520Kb/s+ speed, but for some reason the uploading speed in only 9-10 KB/s.
I have set the upload speed to 50 Kb/s, and still its only going around 9-10 KB/s. Why is that?
There prolly arent many leechers.
Yeah, for something that downloaded that fast, there's probably a large amount of seeders and all the leechers will have it done in no time as well.
Yeah, there's too much seeders (uploaders) and there's too few leechers downloading that file. So in other in other words there's really not ehough leechers connected to you so your upload speed wont be at full speed, because it isnt neccessary.
Anyway download speed is another reason why private torrent sites ( those that require registering) are the best.
thats what u get on private trackers, u download ur file at max speed but u wont be able to upload it at max, the only way to max out ur upload is when that file gets released, as soon as they get released there will be lacked of seeders so any lil bit helps to seed.

I've had a download speed of 1MB/s from I think it was torrentspy from when I was downloading farcry. 4 gigs done in approximately an hour. My cable modem was heating up rofl.
Yea, it's great and scary at the same time...the seeding can take forever at ET.
I jumped on a low SLR (seed-to-leech ratio) pron torrent and got it back up...my ratio that is. :)

You say that as if it were a bad thing. To me that's just the reason why private trackers work so well. People are so eager to share that you can download a file in no time flat. If you're having trouble keeping your ratio up, then you can always throttle your download speed to match or be a little bit less than your upload speed. It's certainly better than getting into a swarm with a bunch of leechers and no seeds and having the torrent die out before you can finish the download.Quote:

on time off of ET I downloaded 4.5 gig in about 2.5 hours and I thought that was smokin but some of yours speeds are crazy. On torrentbytes I usually am able to get speed between 500-600 kb/s. :w00t: :w00t:

Well I'm on a 2MBit/512KBit line which is around $100 (USD) a month. So the internet connection of yours is pretty cheap, compared to mine :dry:
