Games like GTA

i like the crime filled life, shoot everything up feel i got from GTA:SA, up until that point i hadnt really played gta, the first i did for a bit, but was frustrated quickly by the lack of a general direction. the newest game coming out with that feel is 25 to life, i cant wait for that game, it looks like it will be a great deal of fun. i've searched mafia, and true crime, both of which got poor reviews, saying they were ok to play but quickly get old. most likely i will pick up the gta3 and gt:vc 2 pack for xbox, since im sure the graphics are polished up some, to tide me over, but my question is, what other games are like gta, that you would recommend to me?

The graphics are maybe 1% better, not worth a purchase. Mafia is a great game.

Mafia is #1.

Mafia is the absolute best game I've ever played. Plus the endings quite a shot to the gut if ya know wat i mean. I recomend this game iver any!

The getaway is cool.

if by "like GTA" the original post meant "recommend a game where you play a mafia/gangbanger/killer dude"... then i dunno. try one of the Hitman games, or wait for EA to release The Godfather.

yeah id say true crime: streets of LA fits that description...
but i must bringup the complete lack of reality in the game for example:
YOU CAN RUN OVER 4METER HIGH TREES AT A SPEED OF 80KMs/h thats 49miles/h...
