Someone really needs to check this out, unless it's a very odd and public backup solution.
http://www.emule-boards.de/
The topic in the lounge.
What country is it SnnY?
.de, that would be Germany. Mind you, anyone can get German software, and a german domain name.
Maybe their database is better than ours, I wonder if they have the topics and posts that got messed up when we switched software
That is very wierd. It's like it's mirroring the psots here over on that forum along with some other boards (i cant find a way to post there or anything).
My username on the mirror is empty^sRc:blink:
Mine's typograf, I think.
Well I have a different name for each time i post. :01:Quote:

And I'm not sure they are aware they are hosting our stuff anyway.
Anyway, we seem to be filed under usernames from those sites, and since different forums are hosted under different boards, the names sometimes vary from forum to forum.

Maybe they love us so much they wanted to back up our board for us.
Either that or it's Bizarro World.
If you click on sys P it shows the users system profile :(
for example this is the profile for StU
I show up as tuttifrutti.
We need to find out what this is about and put an end to it.
The posts are all from quite a while ago, perhaps it was an abandoned experiment by admin or given the link at the top is to a 'security' (sic) board, maybe it's all to do with teh hax.
Btw, my pseudo username is holy macaroni http://moderation.invisionzone.com/s...ault/happy.gif
My profile has loads of things right about me :fear:Quote:

don't know why i find this so amusing
I'm klide :01:
The lounge section's a bit old but their copy of Softwareworld looks bang up to date.
I've seen something like this before, but with boards related to Macromedia Director. It was another board with a .de extension whose posts were all identical to those on the official Macromedia forum.
I appear to be Typograf everywhere. :01:
And I am mikeeimziger!!!!
I've checked my username and it doesnt turn up on either of the boards, but the copied forums refer you to different boards.
So it's as if they are using the usernames from a third database, the one with the system-specs. http://www.sysprofile.de/
"my" specs don't match at all, btw.
Maybe we were mistaken about your name, rossco, tho' I thought I saw the same thing on a couple of others (might have been quotes or something). Unless there's also a fourth database with different names.
It's pretty weird, anyhow.
The copied forums look like lo-fi versions of a board.
I think it's all on the same server anyway.
Our server had babies :01:
My guess, (assuming that the ICEBAST/hack thing was real, which I don't really do) would be that someone set this up with some random samples from our database ('cos all of our posts aren't posted) to show they had it.
Of course, the posts are all from accessible forums, so someone with a hell of a lot of time of their hands could have just copied and pasted all of the posts. or used spiders.
That doesn't explain how it's set up on that server tho'.
Lol...Quote:

And the name in the Whois thingy "Zawadzki" sounds familiar as well.
Also, didn't he keep asking to make a back up of this board so he could host it himself(This was wen 7th was still the admin here)?
edit:
My name on that board is 'Rene-gad' :01: :D
He is pretty mental so it's not unconcievable he'd make a mirror all on his own, but why would he place some of it under one board and some of it under another, and use usernames from a third place?
Bloody loony.
Man thats not good. This could really hurt our search engine eprformace. What can I do though?
Brian
Use the info provided by SnnY's whois and send a letter to their complaint department?
Send an email to the host asking them to remove the site.Quote:

I dunno.
well anyone can make a spider that fetches posts from other forums, looks liek this is what they did. What is the host name that i can email? I contacted the site owners but I wrote in english so they probably can't read it
Brian
They aren't just random names tho', they come from that other site.Quote:

Er. I'll try to break the news gently. You know there are people who understand English without being British/Canadian/American...Quote:

But it's what pops up in google when you run a search of the emule-web domain.
Am I reading it wrong, or is he a tad unhappy with the other emule board?
Freaky, a guy in that thread has the avatar rperry put on ICEBAST. :lookarounQuote:
