Politeness in Threads?
Do you not find it inconsiderate that members simply butt in and/or cut off the last reply with other interesting items without acknowledging the previous comment?
I find that atleast a standard "my, that was interesting, now let me add this" would be in order in respect to respect
(unless its spam ofcourse)

I'm not really fussed about people butting in or changing the subject, that's just forums for you.
What I can't stand is people who come on the forum and demand help, then can't even be bothered saying please and thankyou.
There is currently at least one member who has done that very thing in the past week and if he/she wants any more help from me, he/she'll quickly find they're SOL unless they learn some manners very quickly.
</rant>
This rant is not directed at anyone who has posted in this thread btw.. I'm just venting. :)
Edit: Oh yeah... and this should sort out that roach Rip...

Sometimes people reply to the starter of the topic, or someone else a few posts up in the thread who has said something interesting, rather than the person who made the post before them, is that the kind of thing you are referring to?
'cos I gotta' tell you, that's just a matter of practicality, not impoliteness.
Threads would look pretty stupid if we acknowledged every single post made before ours before we added something new.
Hi, Ziggy.

Re: Politeness in Threads?
Sometimes I make pointless comments which aren't useful or funny simply because I feel a bit sorry for someone who's put some effort into making a post yet it's been overlooked.
I think doing that is stupid and I try to avoid it where I can ... but sometimes conscience gets the better of me.
I'm just too damn nice :(
Edit: Good point, SnnY :pinch:

Re: Politeness in Threads?
I'm just used to rudeness and being ignored  get it off the missus all the time, some of the best posts start as one thing and develope into something totaly different...sort of hi-tech chinese whispers :)

Re: Politeness in Threads?
Actually this sort of thing (it's really thread hijacking no?) used to annoy me when all the huggy-brigade inhabited the board. Thankfully most of them have died now.
