DVD Recoder?

I'm thinking of getting one. Has ne one got one and what do you think of them?

Here is one I found on walley world.com
DVD Recorder

I need a new dvd player mine is old and wont play alot of my burned dvd's
This one does look good for the money and I like the fact I can make my VHS tapes into DVD

Your thought pls.

I have one already thats how I've been burning DVD's...I need a new DVD player mine is acient and wont play alot of my burned DVD's...So I figured if I was going to upgrade I should get one of these.
Thats why I wanted to see if anyone has one and if its worth it. :unsure:

From what I heard you need a HD TV for the DVD HD to work...am I correct?

Sorry, two different things.

DVDs with hard drives are expensive.

Straight DVD recorders are not.

oh my bad I thought HD=High Definision... I haven never heard of a hard drive on a dvd player :blink:

thats a no name brand, doubt its any good
I have a panasonic dmre20 but it cost 1200 bucks when I got it, think they are alot less maybe 600 or so..

more like 200 dollars now, for panasonic's similar current model. so yeah there is no excuse for wasting 100 dollars on a generic piece of junk when a good brand is only 200.

they rolled the model-number back, but this is actually the new one.

i've got a panasonic and its recording quality is great. vhs-to-dvd recordings look okay, but its recordings from digital satellite look fantastic. you could prolly get better quality with a pc if you get an expensive capture card and you're willing to spend a long time encoding and figuring out the proper settings... but for simple "record a disc and play it" use, panasonic's difficult to beat.

I've been reading reviews on the ilo and it got some good feeback. The only thing I see thats a drawback is it can only record on dvd+ which are still costly
hmm maybe I should just buy a reg dvd tell the HD come down in price :unsure:

DVD+ cost squat.

Especially on Black Friday. They are basically free.

I have about 250 blanks left.

I just got the ilo dvd recoder and it rawks...for a low end player it works great...I burned a VHS movie to DVD with no problem...even sets up a menu and other stuff on the new dvd disc. purty kool.
