I hope that this list can make you a better consumer. For example, if you looking for a luxury car, look for it's counterpart in another company. This counterpart can be cheaper and still be the same such the Cadillac Escalade and the GMC Yukon, if the Yukon is bought instead of the Escalade, the owner can save $40 000 and still have the same SUV!
In the business world, every single company is merging with another one. It is showing that there is no such thing as an independent company anymore. Porsche, is independent but still has to work with VW in order to still be successful. From the looks of this, it will be quite normal and maybe expected that these 13 companies can soon be a smaller number

wait, that's not right, i just did some quick googling, the two cars are different, the Escalade has a 6 litre engine while the Yukon has a 4.8 litre
while it is true that many companies are usually part of a conglomerate (the film industry is another good example), it does really make much sense that the conglomerate would make it's subsidiaries compete with each other

Re: Car companies, who owns who?
Ford, GM, Fiat and Volkswagon look to be the best by my standards.
Over all i would think Volkawagon make the best cars along with GM
-
Re: Car companies, who owns who?
I already knew this, if not which company owns which specifically.
BMW selling Rover for £1 or something is always a laugh. There aren't any UK owned mainstream car manufacturers anymore. I say bring back the Delorian.

Re: Car companies, who owns who?
SAAB are the best cars around.
Reliable, safe, albeit a bit on the expensive side.

Re: Car companies, who owns who?
Nah, this whole "buy the counterpart coz it's cheaper just doesn't work".
Just because the design and the parts are pretty much the same does not mean that the finished products will be the same. It also depends on how they are put together.
I remember a few years back there was a Rover which was identical to the Honda Legend (can't remember the Rover version's name). The only difference was that the Legend was put together in Japan and the Rover in the UK.
What a surprise, the Rovers were constantly being brought back for repairs. The Hondas only ever stopped for fuel. The difference in the build quality was astonishing.
Look at it this way. If I give you a pile of bricks and some mortar and ask you to build a wall you could probably do it, to a degree. However it would be all over the place and would fall down in a gust of wind. If I give exactly the same materials to a decent bricklayer he could build a lovely, square wall which would stand up for years. A wonder wall, as it were.
Unless of course there are any bricklayers reading this, in which case "not you, arse".

Maybe my covert plans for another exodus from the Mayflower Steps of societal undesirables has borne fruit.

Chav, unfortunately, are a twisted copy of part American culture. Over here they are sometimes known as fake-ass gangsta whiteboys.
I hadn't heard of a chav till this forum.
In essence, the "chav" was in America long before the UK. You just named it such.

Fake-ass gangsta whiteboys.
It's a wonder that when we copied the concept from the almighty US, that we didn't also copy the name. It's so damn catchy.
Btw, chavs aren't fake-ass gangsta white boys.

Isn't that being slighty racist?
Any white person you see who is wearing 'gangsta' like clothes is suddenly a chav? Fucking too right you are, bunch of wankers
-
Re: Car companies, who owns who?
That was kinda my point :01:
Chavs can be any creed or colour - provided they're anti-social, robbing, tracksuit-wearing cunts.

Fishin' huh?
It either is racist or it isn't?
You obviously haven't reading. We don't call 'em chavs (except those who have adopted your lingo). Besides that, a "chav", is not just how a person dresses.
From what I've seen, "chavs" are fake-ass wanna-be gangsta whiteboys.
Wtf is 'gangsta' like clothes anyway? It's talk like that lends me to believe you are inherently ignorant as to wtf you are talking about?

You define a chav (or whatever the American is for Chav) as a white person dress or acting like a gangsta.
1) Chav's come in all shapes, colours and sizes.
2) Thats like saying all Terrorists are muslim, which we all know isn't true.
Ergo, racism.

It's pretty simple.
Every instance of chav I've seen is a weird ass copy of shit over here. The fact that you attached a name to it speaks geeky volumes.
I haven't seen chavs "in all shapes, colours and sizes". I've only seen pictures of it on this forum and they look like little bitches trying to be hard.
