Well, post your system specs, most importantly the motherboard you have, because the type of card you can get is dependent on that. Also you may not need a graphics card, you might need more ram, or a better cpu to make your system run better. But lets just start with total system specs.
uhhh alright...lol
p4 2.4 ghz
512mb ram pc3200
radeon9600SE--horrible card
agp card slot
You need more of a overall comp upgrade then a card at this point.
Maybe another stick of ram, but other than that its ok.
Oh and I reccomend and MSI 9800 Pro, there awesome and around 170ish I think.
sry for double post... read next post.
a better thing to do might be to buy this

along with a stick of this

i own a stick of that ram and it is very stable ram and a very good purchase for that price. and ill soon be upgrading to that video card from my geforce mx440.
or you could buy this gfx card

and buy the stick of ram later when u have $50 more to spend.
let us know what u end up doing.
why?Quote:

a P4 2.4Ghz is not slow at all. ur crazy if u think so, and 512mb of ram will help out his pc a lot. i didnt think itd help mine much but upgrading to a gig did quite a bit. and if he wants to buy a $200 video card im pretty sure he plays a lot of games on his pc ;) think a bit pplQuote:

then 1 gigabyte of ram will help a LOT, especially in BF2. and a new gfx card will help also when the next set of new games come out.
Good sugestion, wish I had thought of that...Quote:

If you do upgrade the card, make sure it meets that card's requirment, *Power supply wise*
