Hello,
i got final fantasy 8 and have updated to 1.2 version but still having graphics problems as the screenshot shows they are black blocks around objects and other things does anyone what the problem is, im using windows xp and nvidia 6800 gt i used the geforce update for ff8 but only fuxed video issues.

try turnning off AA anf AAF
tried it and still the same i fixed it now tho in the ff8 config i put software rendering instead of diect3d and works ok

well i heard its not as good at Final Fantasy 7 and so far i dont like the who magic system and how things upgrade i dont understand it, ff7, ff9 and ff10 all seem to be much better than 8
thing that pissed me off about FF8 was standing in there for 3 hrs in a battle to fucking draw magic from the monsters

the music sucked compared too FF7 (except the opening theme) the characters weren't in depth the villains ??? Seperoth would kick the shit out of them
The leveling up system was gay the enemies you face are at the same level as you meaning spending 3 hrs leveling up is no reward pointless. using your weapons hardly takes effect until the last disk where you get Squall big limit break (yes and that takes a lot of mucking around to get!) and you have to use GF to get big power hits on monsters (and that takes about 2 mins to summon and gets boring seeing shiva smash a ice cube 10 times in 1 fight)
but it was a RPG my type and the story kept it interesting enough tokeep playing it dont think ill play it again coz of the pain in the ass of things too do
how does limit breaks work i dont understand that either just yet i just became a SeeD member its so conufsing compared to FF7, FF9 and FF10

I liked the limit breaks like that.
That way I just get the main character to always be at like 300 health and be in yellow then limit break the hell out of the super dragon guys in the north west islands
