GTA / winrar question

ok, so i wanted to get san andreas for my computer. so i go to www.mybittorrent.com. find it and downloaded it. it took a couple days to fully download. there were about 85 files hlm-gtasa.r00 to hlm-gtasa.r83 a srv file a rar file and a nfo file. so what i did was get the hlm-gtasa.rar and unrared it with winrar, then i mounted the iso using daemon tools. installed it. put in the hoodlum files and everything goes fine and dandy, but leaves me with one simple question. what was the point of downloading all those 84 other files when i didnt even use them at all?

You did use them, when you click to extra the first one it automatically extras from the other ones as well.

exactly, almost all large files are done this way now :)

that was probably one big file splitted into several smaller files, accompanied by a joiner file.

You need to install "WinRar", Then you can right click any .rar file in that folder and "extract" all those .rar files into one large .iso file.

If it's the same GTA I downloaded, you need to replace a .dll file to "make it work."

there is no such 'joiner' file. it doesnt matter which .rar you open.

wierd. i was wondering why the rar was like 47 mb and extrated to 3 gigs. so when u extract one file all the "parts" are extracted into one? wierd.

when i run the game it gose kinda slow. so i went out and bought a new 256 stick of ram, which makes a grand total of 512mb. but when i play the game it still runs the same. is there some setting i need to chage or something?

what kind of videocard do you have?

Integrated Intel Extreme graphics with my hp pavillion 505n.

Does it run smoothly with that card? Might want to look into buying a better card.

i am surpised those intergrated graphics can run the game at all, intel graphics are just tottaly shite

hell, with the newer games, even pretty good cards are shite. I had given my brother in law my old ATI All in WOnder 9200, he can't play farcry on it :(

i might just do that. its only a 64 mb card

help! i downloaded gta try to open w/ win rar gets stuck at.r04
only the first four open then says corrupt. what can i do?

with what program did you download it? usenet? p2p? bittorrent?

downloaded from irc (mirc, anaconda)
