Re: question about rsvp.exe
read this
http://www.auditmypc.com/process/rsvp.asp
if it is a naughty one and you are certain you are not using it for other sftwr
you can probably disable it through a startup controller like ccleaner or hijackthis or disable it in services.
Re: question about rsvp.exe
thank you for that link the only thing i did do was set up my headset and mike in yahoo and msn messenger. Maybe they trigger the program. You can close down in task manager as it says access is denied.
Re: question about rsvp.exe
That is what it said it does
" rsvp.exe is a process which handles Quality of Services between client and server for audio and video streaming applications. This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems."
My headset works without it.
The question is do you need it?
open a startup controller(which has backup) like hijackthis, remove the entries refering to rsvp.exe. Reboot. It should not be there - then login to mssnger etc and try the mike see if it stills works. it should.
If not
open hijackthis, goto backups restore the item, reboot.

read more on it, and wait for other opinions.
Re: question about rsvp.exe
I see this as being a Windows 2000 Server problem.
Although I'm guessing you're on XP.
Heres what I'm sp[eaking of.
