Its happened in the before (not sure whether it was a Iranian though and what the protest was about). I saw a documentary once which had a clip of it. The person just burnt in the street :(Quote:

I recall a woman setting herself alight a few years ago in Ontario, in front of the French Embassy. She was protesting France's crackdown on an Iranian opposition group.
However, self-immolation is an, oddly, common-enough form of drastic protest.
