Internet explorer missing from start menu
My computer got fried by an electrical storm which required replacing the motherboard.
I had to take it to a shop since it wouldn't boot and I couldn't tell what was wrong or needed replacing.
Anyway they did a repair install of XP Media Edition and now IE is missing from the start menu and quick launch toolbar. It's still there but the only way I can get to it is by launching updates.
Anyone know how to get a shortcut back?
I don't use it but you never know when the need might arise.
I don't have a Windows Media Edition installation CD and I already did a reinstall of IE 7 with no luck.
Re: Internet explorer missing from start menu
Try going to Set Program Access and Defaults and reselect IE to be your default browser. I'm pretty sure it'll recreate IE's shortcuts. Could also try the Taskbar and Start Menu control panel (Start Menu tab > Customize > Check Internet for it to show your preferred browser.)
Re: Internet explorer missing from start menu
The first one did the trick.

Then tick those check button which you wanted to see on your start menu

If you want IE on Desktop instead of creating shortcut. Go to the control panel in that Display option is there---> click on the customize desktop where you will get the options which one to place on the desktop. :D
Re: Internet explorer missing from start menu
