can you buy counterstrike source on its own?

i want to play against a mate of mine - but he doesnt wanna pay full price for half life 2 - can you buy counterstrike source on its own?

i had a look at downloading it direct from steam - but you have to pay $80 for the half life 2 gold package to even get it

any ideas how i could get him just source?

id copy my half life 2 dvd - but were all aware of the crack problems etc!

also - i assume you cannot play together if one of you has counter strike condition zero and the other has source? can anyone confirm this?

Yea and that works on all servers.

Yeah, get CS Source Emporio, or Luzifer. Then get the Emprio # 5 updates.
