Convert a 2CD Xvid movie into 1 DVD
Hi there. I don't know if this is the right section to ask (if it's not, please move it), sorry. I know that in times i could do this, but i forgot how!!!
Here's the problem: i got a movie that comes in 2 .AVI, encoded with Xvid. I want to convert that do DVD, so i can burn and watch @ my DVD player. With 1 .AVI i usually use VSO ConvertXtoDVD, but how do i make with 2 (that are the same movie, just divided in 2 parts)? Oh, and i don't want them to "break" @ the merge part...
Thanks for any help.
Re: Convert a 2CD Xvid movie into 1 DVD
I know you mean as I use Vso as well . I just click cd two when ready to watch , think of it as a washroom break . I always wonder why its broken up that way , two large a file ?
Example is Transformers @ 1.38 gb .
AVI-joiner :

Hum, i used AVI Joiner but the movie lost almost all the quality. :( Anyone knows why?

I use Vso also and convert multiple .avi's together.
Just make sure they are in the correct order. (i.e. part1.avi, part2.avi)

Re: Convert a 2CD Xvid movie into 1 DVD
well in virtual dub you can open one video file like normal and then use Append video segment to add the other one.
make sure you select "direct stream copy" under video tab and in the audio tab or else it will encode the movie, then save as avi. if it is taking longer than 10 minutes it is wrong.\
sometimes virtualdub will give an error about sampling rates nut i usually ignore it and everything turns out fine.

There you go. Use VirtualDub to put them together, Append the video then do Direct Stream Copy with video and audio. Then burn to DVD with ConvertXtoDVD.
Just remember, if the xvid movie uses VBR for the audio, and they usually do, you're gonna run into problems.
