Burn an .iso and boot from it. i rest my case
1. No - doubt that you would get a good copy even if able to create self-extract.Quote:

2. Yes you would have to use a burner and burn a XP iso/bin image to cd because you cannot install XP from the drive you will be installing to.
You can extract ISOs onto your hard drive with these tools then install them but you're gonna want XP on a CD eventually.
