nVidia's 600i & 8800 series family!
looks like i won't be getting my rd600 after all. :( i was so looking forward to that board. well, looks as nVidia has cum up with their own "rd600". well, it's version to compete that is. yep, i'm talking about the 600i series chipsets. they will cum in 3 flavors for intel. 680i SLi, 650i SLi, & 650i Ultra (600a series for amd). as of now i believe i'll probably be getting the 680i version. i always purchase the best mb that's available. then u have the new dx10 version videocards from nVidia also. these two G80 cards (only two available on launch) are being named 8800 GTX (flagship) and the 8800 GTS. lots of new and great stuff cummin' from our friendly nVidia personnel in the future! sad times to amd/ati's newest x1950xtx cards too as this 8800 GTX completely dominates it in a single card solution compared to the x1950xtx in crossfire! u make the call. all of this should be available for purchase within the next week or two. get urs!?
600i family specs
8800 series specs
Dominating 8800 vs x1950xtx Benches
the 600i series chipset mb's are core 2 duo and core 2 quad compatible and support the new 1333 MHz fsb and is aimed for the oc'er enthusiast. the 8800 series vid crds are 768mb & 640mb cards, support m$'s newest dx version 10, shader model 4.0 and crush every board out there especially in SLi mode where it really shines! look at those 2048 x 1536 rez benches! impressive & sold! just make sure u have a very good psu for these 8800 series cards. 450w psu for single solution and 800w for SLi. :( lol, time for that 1k watt pc power and cooling psu!

No, Oblivion still bring even two 8800GTX in SLI to their knees on maxed settings and high resolution.:no2:

"As you can see in the table with the 8800 GTX the highest playable setting that struck a balance of image quality and performance was a very high 1600x1200 with 8X AA (which is the CSAA mode since it is turned on in the control panel), and 16X AF with the absolutely highest in-game settings possible. The in-game settings literally do not go any higher; this is as good as the game gets visually. We were pulling an average in our test of 48 FPS, and a minimum in the lower 30’s, all very playable at such high settings."
This card is pretty fricking sweet. Even the GTS can play it maxed out.
Re: nVidia's 600i & 8800 series family!
My nforce 590 got obsoleted but I RMA'ed it for a nforce 680i board. Those new video cards are way too pricey. :(

that's 4 SLi. if running single card solution 450w/psu and yes, i've seen 1 8800gtx out shine 2 x1950xtx's in crossfire, but haven't seen the outcum of 2 7950gx2's yet. i'm sure the 8800gtx pwnz all. good card, but watch out for the r600's!
Re: nVidia's 600i & 8800 series family!
yea i saw benchmarks for the 8800 against the 2 7950's if i recall it was very very close i tryed to look for it so you all can see it but no luck.

I got obsoleted. :P I was still within the 30 day return so I exchanged it for the eVGA board. The Asus boards look like shit.

that evga board has too many problems atm. i'll wait for another manufacturer or 2-3 bios updates. terrible sound issues either with on-board or external. not liking the fact u have to use a dremel tool to drill out holes in the zalman hsf to fit the poorly placed capacitors either. northbridge's hsf poorly placed which blows hot air on the cpu and gets to hot without it. meh, i'll wait for a better board and the asus is just to overpriced atm.
