ok u know thoses eraser programs get rid of sensative data. ok it says it does it by writing and rewriting all over again will that like break my hd hardware or wear it down

Also. A drive is built for writing and reading data. Over and over and over...
You DO get a lot of "Disk--Writes" when constantly using programs such as "Eraser", you need to keep in mind that the Corporations that these programs were designed for :whistling , were probably replacing there HDD's every 1000 hours .... :blink:
I mean a "Gutmann" pass does 35 wipes, and thats healthy for your HDD?? :lol:
No it won't harm your drive in any way HD are ment to take quit abit of wear and tear
