have u used divx create bundle
I am using divx create bundle.
I drop a 40mb .mpg file onto the converter and choose the profile as 'home theatre'. The file created is a 18mb .divx
Now if I do the same again and choose 'handheld' as the profile, I again get an 18mb .divx file. But this time i am expecting a smaller file size because the profile is 'handheld' (and files for handheld devices should be smaller).
So do u know why the file size for both profiles is 18mb??
thanks
Re: have u used divx create bundle
I am really confused with this divx encoding.
I used divx pro with virtualdub to encode a 40mb mpg movie and saved it to avi. The resulting avi file came to 150mb. Why is this the case. I thought the point of using divx codec was to reduce the file size. so the 40mb file should become smaller??????????????

Its sience, hehe, a little more complicated than doing mp3's.
No, I haven't used that bundle so I dunno what its all about,
but also a good place for info is http://doom9.org/guides.htm
Probably the Mecca of encoding videos, heh.

vcdhelp.com is also amazing
i got it. it's kinda kinky. made for old men who don't know anything and want to encode using divx cuz they heard about it from some other pedophile old men
