Then i use nero to burn
Yeah, Ike's right TMPGEnc will happily convert AVI files to MPEG-2 (S-VCD).

i am doing a search for the software you mentioned but cannot get any results. tell me what search parameter to enter so i can find it.

I just grabbed that program, its only good for 30 days right?
i think it's good forever.
you can use nero burning rom to make vcds out of avi files too.
