u torrent connection problems
ok well had to dump windows completely lost the lot so starting again.
have got u torrent back but am still having trouble with ports have tried port forwarding but still not able to open.
i have a d-link 302g modem/router but when i go to port fowarding and click on that model the screen that i should get when i type in the modem address 10.1.1.1 is different and i do not have service button on the left, only nat so click on that get to the screen that is supposed to be the rule one changed it to what the port forward says push submit and i get unable to accept data already exists.
but whan i go back to u torrent i am getting downloading speeds of around 2-4 kb/s and the little yellow triangle down the bottom says no incoming connections and on the logger tab it says unable to map upnp port as usual any help gratefully accepted
Re: u torrent connection problems
is your window's firewall allowing connections for your port? also try searching on the d-link website on how to open a port for your router, thats what i did and im getting 300 - 400kbs down in uTorrent now :D
Re: u torrent connection problems
ok well i have just spoken to d-link and have now got all ports open but i still cannot get a speed above 15kb/s and even that high is rare i have u torrent in the exceptions and have put u torrent as name and the port number into the add port screen on both tcp and udp so what am i doing wrong now i even have disabled my windows firewall completely and also turned off vet anti virus and e patrol pest software
Re: u torrent connection problems
have you enabled encryption in your client?
do that and try one of the open office torrents:
http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/
you should get good speed on those.
Re: u torrent connection problems
ok i have got encryption enabled but still lousy speed at present 5.5kb/s not sure what you meant by using one of the open office torrents i am using u torrent that was on the open office site so does that mean i already have it??

download this torrent and see what speeds you get:
http://borft.student.utwente.nl/~adr...ll.exe.torrent
Re: u torrent connection problems
ok did that but only got speeds of up to 55kb/s and now no longer have the yellow triangle but now have the red exclamation mark
Re: u torrent connection problems
that torrent should have come close to maxing out your download.
what kind of speeds were you getting before you re-installed windows?
Re: u torrent connection problems
the same nothing has changed even after opening all ports and did that by talking to d-link
Re: u torrent connection problems
Aussienaterror, first you have to find out what your ACTUAL speeds are.
Use this one (run the speedtest several times, after you have put in your country of origin), note down the speeds you get on up and down
(between nnn KB/s and nnn KB/s)
Post them here.
