ok i figured out that you can add HTTP sources to
magnet links and kazaa will download from p2p AND the web
here is a quicktime video with a HTTP alt source
magnet:?xt=urn:sha1:4DVJRIYU3JXOCBIFCBPR3LOYW7HN4KLJ&xt=urn:kzhash:9d440641bf10170493cea026611e62bc6d9d6b55c29f58d2964afa8336e292cec56e9918&dn=Mr_Scruff-Get_a_Move_On.mov&xs=http%3A//www.ninjatune.net/qtvideos/getamoveon.mov
to download that in kazaa 2.6 paste the hashlink above into the kazaa 2.6 web address bar and hit return or press the GO button.
edit: I think this would be a good way to distribute files that have a
web host to preseed the network, then even if the weblink
goes down the downloads would continue because alot of
people will still be sharing it.
OH and bitzi now supports kazaa v2.6 magnet links :smilie4:
-
could you explain, in more detail, how to do this with other files?
-
well i calculated/created the magnet link with Bitcollider v060
and added &xs=http%3A//www.thewebaddress to the
end of it.
-
Thats kick ass :D
Kinda get around things
-
now all we need is a Mag2dat or K-Mag program
to load magnet links into kazaa from links in explorer
instead of having to paste them into the address field,
or by dragging them onto the kazaa browser window.
or is it that magnet.exe just won't load them into kazaa for me.
does magnet.exe work for anyone else?
-
If kazaa is running magnet links work fine, im sure magnet.exe can easily be "modded" or our own version made :01:
-
magnet links don't work for me in IE but they work fine in the web screen of k-lite (pasting to the address bar or clicking a magnet link on a page)
and i can't get it to work with multiple web sources :frusty:
some one else give it a shot
Code:
magnet:?xt=urn:kzhash:6108128c46945fac2ef47ea8b063054c0ed5cbc57294697f9a3b5e618d8d123f236e1670&dn=kazmag.exe&xs=http%3A//members.xoom.virgilio.it/nsane/kazmag.exe&xs=http%3A//fuhq.bigmoron.com/kazmag.exe
-
ok i assumed the more then one alt source would work in
kazaa, it works in shareaza, (try your link in shareaza) ;)
i guess kazaa will only accept one alt-source. sorry
EDIT: and since shareaza accepts magnet links it might
be a good idea to keep the SHA1 urn in the link.
-
seems kind of pointless downloading files available on HTTP from other users when HTTP links are usually faster.
-
BiLLy_BloggZ, when you got two or more sources for a file its usually quicker than one with only one source....
