If you've read any of Charles Bukowski's books, the film is almost there except for maybe the passion and more dirt. but i think they definetly chose the wrong actor - Jeff Bridges or any one else (even Anthony Hopkins) would work better than Matt Dillon, he's too tight to be messed up.
